Back Beautiful Music

As you remember not too long ago we had did a small piece on our first lady (Ms. Kalae All Day). Well now she needs your help in making her dreams spread through the masses. Help her along with the forces of Kickstarter.com to raise $3,000 for her series of music videos.

Here is a quick description for the concept of the videos, explained by yours truly... Kalae All Day:

Firstly let me explain the concept behind the videos. The idea for the first video "BREAKiTDOWN" ft. Mic Wilson, is to create a 40's styled set with a very neo twist. It is vintage, classic, grunge and urban all in one. The second music video "THiSiSiTWHAT" ft. Princess Superstar, has more of an 80's dance video feel with a Matrix, Zion, water battle twist. Think bossa nova, rave party, bboyz and strobe lights. They sound great right? Well I need your help for my visions to become a reality on screen!

Vinyl Music: wrecords by Monkey

Recycling music through art.... Or more like revamping music as an art.

Based out of Brooklyn, New York. WRecords by Monkey is a company that bridges the worlds of fashion, art and music.
All of there jewelry are made from recycled vinyl records. From earrings, bracelets, necklaces and down to their signature cuffs.
I actually got a chance to meet with the founders (Brian Farrell & Patrick Chirico) at the "Toy Street" fair. Their presentation of the collection was very eye-catching. Let's just say their table was the only table I visited in the fair. I also purchased 3 items from them.
Both are graduates of Fashion Institute of Technology and they started with this idea straight from there dorm room. And we all know that is where great ideas are born. (for example: Google, Facebook.. etc)

First Lady AllDay

Afro-Automatic-Neolistic-Hipster-Rocker-Shines like a Star with Soul and Music maker. These are only words that describe Kalae All Day, but the music defines it all. Truly exuding the title of her debut album "AFROMATIKNEOHIPPIEROCKSTARSOLEMUZIK", Kalae is on a mission to resurrect the female emcee.

A Harlem native Vegan at the young age of 21, Kalae has been on the Underground scene for a while now. From her high energy shows at Southpaw, Public Assembly and many others. If you haven't seen this Afro-Emcee get busy on stage your def missing out. My first Kalae sighting was at Brooklyn Bodega's Show & Prove performing her single "Brooklyn Boys" in which she won a spot to open up for Talib Kweli's "Idle Warship". That already says enough.
Describing the power in her afro in the song "FROONTHERUN" , I wonder if that afro has a mind of its own. Lady Kalae is an artist out of the box, circle, triangle and all shapes.. She's a prism. Inverting all images of music.

New Jersey Swing: Kalil Kash

Photobucket

"The look, the style, professional. Don't think so?.. Then that shows what you know".

Because Newark, NJ emcee, Kalil Kash is definitely all the above. With the release of his album "The Exit Method" which dropped on Feb. 23, this album is for sure a BANG BANG BANGER!!!!
I haven't got around to talking to Mr. Kalil Kash about his success, but while at his release party I have overheard him talking to several different people and quoted him saying "This album right here is my baby". And what he says is definitely true. With an opening track like "1985" he takes you from where it all started and to where he will never stop doing what he loves. Its also so lovely that he thanked his mama... Beautiful.
He didn't stop there. His racy song "Buggin' Out's Jordans",derived from the Spike Lee Joint "Do the Right Thing", touches on the issue of gentrifciation. He tells a truth story of the changes that occur when a race of people can alter the minds and the livelihood of our black people.
However there's a softer side to K. Kash. In his song "November" he speaks of a love that begin in that very month with a young woman. The lyrics in this song really spoke to me when I took a listen to it. It told me "hey.. rappers could love too" lol. This is definitely a song for those who are boggled by love. But that wasn't the only song that touched home. Just recently K. Kash told me that he received a tweet from a woman concerning his song "20 years", saying that her son was in prison and listened to the song and began to cry. If thats not reason enough to listen to this album then I don't know what is.

Thank You, Kalil Kash
for your impact on music and your impact on iLuvUA.com

What is Kalil Kash's M.C.?
Marvelous. Captivator
